Drop-off/Pick-up Procedures

Safe procedures for student drop off and pick up

The procedures that are established for dropping off your child in the morning and picking your child up in the afternoon are to keep our students safe when on school grounds. We ask that you demonstrate patience with our staff. We are trying to help all students reach their destination safely and orderly.

Morning Procedures

  • Students can be dropped off as early as 8:40 – staff will be available to supervise at this time.
  • Students will enter the building at 8:40 when the bell rings AND a teacher opens the door.
  • By 8:50, students should be in their classroom ready to learn.
  • There are two ways to drop off students:
    1. Park and walk: Parents can park in spaces and walk children to the doors. Please use the crosswalk when crossing the parking lot.
    2. Curbside drop-off: Parents may drop students along the front lot curb. Pull forward, stop completely, and allow your child to exit on the passenger side once you are south of the crosswalk.
  • After drop-off, you may use either of the two lanes to exit the parking lot.
  • Student line-up doors:
    • Door 1 (main entrance): Kindergarten & 1st Grade
    • Door 11 (north of main entrance): 2nd & 3rd Grade
    • Door 2 (south of main entrance): 4th & 5th Grade
  • If students arrive after their class has been picked up, they may go directly to class.
  • Students entering after 8:50 must go to the office for a tardy slip.

Afternoon Pick-up

  • Students will be dismissed between 3:25 and 3:27 to allow for safe dismissal.
  • Parents may:
    • Park in a space and walk to pick up students (use the crosswalk), OR
    • Pull up to the curb to pick up children after the crosswalk.
  • Students will only enter vehicles once they are south of the crosswalk.
  • Please pull forward and follow staff directions at all times.
  • Students who walk home must use the sidewalk and cross with the crossing guard at the designated crosswalk.
